A character's base movement speed is 30ft.
The player has three Element Points to distribute amongst their Earth, Air, or Water modifiers as they see fit.
These choices reflect training or experience in their background and can either enhance their Element Makeup, round them out, show a lot of work was done in areas at cross-purposes with their makeup, or any combination of these.
Element Pool represents a character's internal resources to affect the world. EP is used by Shapers for manipulations and by all characters to use special abilities. The EP cost of something is listed in each description of the ability or manipulation.
To find your EP, add all of your Element modifiers together. If your character's Archetype is Shaper, double your Dominant Element modifier and add the other two to it. That total is your EP.
Every character starts with 1 Heart, which is 10 HP.
Wait, what? How can a bookworm Scienseer have the same "health" as a Soldier? I put all my Element Points in Earth, where are my extra hit points? Consider this: strip a person naked and put a sword in their gut. How different are we now? Training of all kinds, mental conditioning, saving throws, and anything else you can think of are handled elsewhere. The decisions to have everyone start in the same place for HP and to make gains in HP rare were not made lightly and the other systems support and feed into this. I ask that you trust in the systems, not in individual rules that may seem unfamiliar.
Whew, you made it! Let's play!
