Merging is the infusion of an elemental into a living being. The effects are similar to infusion of the same element, but the elemental is self-sustaining and no outside elements are required to balance out the body. How this merging goes is dependent on many factors, the most important two being the compatibility of the elemental with the human's element makeup and whether or not the combination is mutually desired.
