Sophocles’ Philoctete - complex redemption story. Les Miserables by Hugo.
Clarissa leads a small team of cultists to steal a charging station from inside the Census Office fortress. They need this to trade for the tralaticon. She duels and is handidly defeated by Rylan. How does the reader know what a charging station is? I don't think one has appeared directly yet. Perhaps during Medical she can pass the armory and that is where she meets Pali just coming out from getting her weapon charged for watch.
Also important- how does Rylan defeat her? He is off duty and happens to be nearby. With Clarissa's knowledge and a secret entrance, the small team is able to avoid detection in the dead of night when the offices and labs are mostly empty. Davoust is not there, but Rylan cannot sleep and is roaming the halls. He nearly stops the whole thing single handedly with only a gladius. Why is he doing that? A great character moment for his book.
